Smart Side Rail

Smart Side Rail is a project that improves safety on highways. The systems warns drivers of the traffic situations ahead. It shows when a car has stopped, crashed or is driving slowly. 

The prototype was build using Arduino and Processing. The hardware used were infrared sensors as well as infrared LEDs and normal LEDs. One to detect cars and the other to inform other road users.
It was built in the first year of the Creative Technology study together with Johannes Jacabasch, Szandra Ivan, Daan van Ramshorst and Judith Weda.
