About
I'm Judith,
I enjoy creating and challenging myself to try new things. With skills in fast prototyping, creative problem solving, programming and research I have designed, created and evaluated different types of user interfaces, while focused on user experience and performance. I have a broad research interest in Human Computer Interaction. My main interest lies in soft wearable technology for mediated (social) touch. I investigate this through a multi-method approach that includes psychophysical experiments, surveys, interviews and various user studies in the lab. In addition to fundamental perception paradigms, I investigate the emotional and sensory experience of specific touch parameters in order to better understand touch interaction and design haptic stimuli that are congruent with the desired user experience and context. Key application areas are maintaining and growing (intergenerational) relationships, and social-, emotional-, and physical wellbeing. My research addresses real-world, societal problems such as loneliness reduction and prevention, increased physical exercise and injury prevention. |
